Past-Times

There were monthly card games, which ended with a dance. One person played a button accordion and another played a piano.

The recreation ground is where cricket, foot races and football was played.

The District hall was erected in 1924. Before that, they used a weatherboard section, that was attached to the Hotel.

There was a tennis court, near the hall, and because of the success they had with that, they opened another tennis court.

There were town picnics. At one picnic, people got on horses, horse and buggy or bicycle to go to a property which had a pond.

There were also school picnics and trips to the seaside by special trains.

There was a Agricultural Bureau in Sutherlands.
